Now,
while you’ve probably seen a
number of different types of poppers
over the years, what
you may not know is that a number
of these brands could be fakes.
They may look like the real thing
– almost smell like the real
thing. They may even come in the
same bottles as the brands you’re
familiar with – even the inferior
domestic brands.
But in order to capitalize on the
popularity and success of RUSH®,
and the other world-famous PWD brands,
a small number of illegal operators
have set up shop in murky waters,
and are trying to distribute inferior,
and potentially harmful knock-offs
of RUSH®, and other
highly-respected PWD poppers.
Today, every bottle of poppers that
PWD manufactures is as potent and
as pure as the first
bottles that started the legacy over
30 years ago. But while PWD is still
using the same
top-quality, expensive nitrites, the
imposters are using caustic chemicals
similar to nail polish
remover, passing them off as “poppers.”
These inferior nitrites lack power
and can cause
headaches - even nausea, or perhaps
worse.
Today, as part of its “Never
Fake It” campaign,
PWD advises that when you buy any
of its
poppers, that you follow these 5 simple
tests. Doing so, will ensure that
you always have the
“purest, best” poppers
available.
1. Can you
spot Captain RUSH®? If
the label on your bottle of RUSH®
does not contain a
picture of the illustrious caped crusader,
Captain RUSH®, the bottle is a
fake!
2. Check
for the copyrighted slogan “Never
Fake It.” It’s
located on the top seal around the
cap of each new bottle of poppers
that PWD makes. Without this phrase,
the bottle is definitely
a knock-off.
3. “If
there’s a perforation, it’s
an imitation.” When trying
to disguise their knock-offs, the
pirates often make a sloppy mistake.
They use cheap packaging that distorts,
discolors and
twists. And this packaging often has
a perforation around the neck of the
bottle beneath the
cap. If your poppers have this feature,
they are without a doubt fake and
potentially harmful.
4. Look for
the mysterious white pellet!
If you’ve ever wondered what
the little white pellet is
that sits in the bottom of your poppers,
I’m about to tell you…
PWD invented this pellet in 1981.
It’s called the Power-Pak
Pellet®. And
PWD is the only
company in the world that holds the
secret and the trademark on this technology.
It means
that aromas from any other distributor,
(imposter or otherwise), will not
stay as fresh or as
potent as long as the legitimate PWD
brands do. As your aromas age, the
Power-Pak Pellet®
will begin to disintegrate. Don’t
let this alarm you. It’s a good
thing. It means that the
Power-Pak Pellet® is working,
and that it is indeed the real thing.
Manufacturers of fake poppers (while
they do clever imitations) do not
have the technology to
create these pellets. Instead, in
order to fool you, they substitute
the Power-Pak Pellet® with
mere plastic beads. The plastic in
these beads, not only depletes the
potency of the aroma
faster, they also leak contaminates
into the liquid, which can harm you.
5. Do you
see the PWD logo on the cap?
If you don’t, it’s surely
a fake! That unmistakable
mark is embossed on the cap of every
bottle of PWD aromas.
