It was only after I contacted PWD, the
makers of RUSH®, and Googled around
a bit, that the truth came out!
While fantastic poppers were rife in the
UK for nearly 20 years, in the past decade
something did indeed change.
At first the makers of the UK brands began
to counterfeit PWD products. The makers
of one of the most popular UK brands (a
'gold' brand) began making fake QUICKSILVER®.
Another UK maker began to dupe RUSH®
-- but were finally forced to shut down.
They ended up with a brand called "Reds".
Then some local companies began making a
host of inferior domestic brands of poppers.
And it was the manufacturers of these poppers
who forced their second-rate products upon
the British market. In fact, distributors
that had once been loyal to PWD were relentlessly
approached by TNT, Liquid Gold, Buzz, Bang,Reds,
Sniper etc., to stock their goods instead
of PWD's brands. And over time, dealers
slowly began to oblige. Before long, they
had stopped carrying RUSH®, and all
the other world-famous PWD brands.
After slowly being squeezed out of Britain,
it seemed RUSH® and PWD had lost the
battle.
But today, the Internet has leveled the
playing field. PWD is fighting back, and
regaining lost market share. In 2005 they
scored several new contracts with some of
the UK´s largest distributors, retailers
and e-tailers. They re-started their ad
campaigns in a number of major publications,
including Gay Times and AXM. And now, after
having all but vanished, RUSH®, RAM®,
HARDWARE®, and the entire range of these
original poppers, are starting to return
to store shelves. And UK consumers are renewing
a love affair with the world's purest and
most potent aromas -- all over again.
As the American publication Bunkhouse Magazine
said of PWD´s poppers, there is nothing
better. Other publications have acclaimed
HARDWARE® as being "purest-best",
and RUSH® has been proclaimed the world's
#1 brand of aroma.
This brought me to the crux of the quest...Where
can I can get my hands on some?!
